ive been to a chiropractor in santa cruz who did a technique where he tested your muscles to see whech were faring well and whech wasn´t. then after creating a profile of all that were and all that werent he was able to find ones that he felt were ¨primary´¨. so after locateing the muslces he would do some simple masage work and then test again and the muscle would be firing. he claimed that most imbalances were actually nueroloical disorientation and that getiting the primary muscle in the pattern or prfile working the other muscle then wake up and work as well.

is this ringing any bells for anyone

Overworked

Hello there, newbie posting here to get some advice about my bodywork practise. I integrate Shiatsu, JSD acupressure, Breema and energy work into a Thai massage framework.

In the past I have developed RSI's in my arms from doing too much work (surprise surprise). After a long break of 8 months, I am back doing about 5 sessions per week. My goal is 10 per week but after 2 months of just half that I am feeling my arms flare up with my RSI's.
I'm a small woman who is not built like some Thai Yoga Therapists who can handle a full workload of say 20 sessions per week. I put a lot into my work and I like to spend enough time with each client which sometimes works out to 2 hours. The point of why I now have a private practise instead of working at an establishment is so I don't have to be concerned with the clock throughout my sessions.

Right now I am charging $80 per session but I am realizing more and more I'm going to have to charge an hourly rate. I have different ideas as to how to do this, such as a straight up per minute rate or a set rate for the first hour and then per additional 15 minute increments. I would like some feedback as to what you think is a reasonable rate, and how to implement this since my clients are used to this current rate.

I want to have a practise that is rewarding, sustainable, reasonable for the clients, and DON"T want to live with RSI's like I have in the past. I am doing what I can in terms of seeking treatment and strengthening to get myself to my max sustainable level. My options are: charge more or find a different career path to have alongside my bodywork practise. I'm open to both options and would like to know what you have to say about my situation.

Traditional Thai Massage is an act of meditation for both giver and receiver. It is a beautiful form of bodywork performed on a supportive floor mat. The receiver is fully clothed. deep tissue work backfired?

I've been working with a client for a month and a half now. She came to me saying she was having low back pain linked to foot issues. I noticed she had a higher right hip (illiac crest) and a mild s curve to her spine. I focused my work on deep work to the plantar fascia to break up the fibrotic tissue. work to relase left gluteus medius and right quadratus lumborum. Also worked to lengthen fasica away from the right hip down the itb, and towards the left hip up the itb. And moved fascia along the illiac crest from front to back.

It was working great, and last week after seeing me i was thrilled to find that her hips were totally even.

however...

the next day she woke up in worse pain than ever. everything i had been working on seems to be worse than before now. She had to have a cortizone shot for one of her feet and is apparently in severe lower back discomfort. Any ideas what happened and what the next step would be?

Tell me if this is possible?

I know someone who is a therapist and they got massaged by a therapist thet does over 300 NMT treatments a year. (They did a trade) The therapist who was receiving the massage told the giver that they caused them to get sevier tendonitis in the shoulder. The therapist who is claiming to be hurt works alot and probrobly got hurt from overuse. It's been about 3 months and the therapist still claims to be hurt. In my opinion the person that's claiming to be hurt probrably had a problem to begin with and when they finally got worked on the muscles around the injury let go and the injury surfaced. Any thoughts?

This is one of those ethical delimas you hate to see come up.

Deep Tissue bodywork trade sought in East Bay

hi all, I didn't see a thread about this already... wondering if any deep tissue specialists here live in the east bay and are willing to do a trade with another deep tissue specialist. I just can't seem to find someone willing to really work deep on me and swedish doesn't do the trick. My style is Swedish-Esalen with Deep Tissue mixed in. My clients seem really happy with this combo of deeper work with more soothing strokes as well, although I also offer straight deep tissue. I am open to either way, as long as the places that need the deeper, slower work gets it. I saw a PUSH therapist for awhile and that did the trick for me after a car accident, but its not the style of bodywork I relish. the artificial thumbs were kind of cool though, and I bought some but have yet to use it on any clients, just myself.
Any good professional massage therapists out there hearing me and open to discussing a trade? I have been working professionally for about five years, and first trained in massage 18 years ago, the second time around (five years ago) at Diamond Light in Mill Valley. awesome school.

Trigger Point Tools

I finally broke down and purchased a couple of tools for trigger point therapy. Not that I am having problems with my fingers or thumbs, as I do practice good hand and body mechanics, but I want to find out if using an aid in deactivating a trigger point be more beneficial or end up being another gimmicky gadget.

Seattle; seeking out models for SOMA (Structural Integration) student

I am attending the Soma Institute of Neuromuscular Integration, studying a specific style of bodywork much different than other massage modalities. The program begins in late September 2007 and goes into February 2008. For the program I will need 4 models to work with as we go through the 11 session series together. I am hoping to have 4 committed models by the first week of September.
The commitment requires the model to attend every session for eleven weeks at the Soma Institute campus, with a $50 fee for each session.
Each model will keep the same scheduled time every week, the times offered are;
Saturdays: 10 am 1pm 330 pm
Sundays: 1 pm
Although the cost, time, and distance can seem like a hindrance, I assure you this opportunity is priceless for anyone interested in learning more about their body and the healing arts. The school is located 45 min. from Seattle in Buckley, at the foot of Mt. Rainier.
“Soma” is not massage. We are in the field of Structural Integration which includes Rolfing & Hellerwork. Structural Integration has a specific intent to aid the body back into an aligned position in relation to gravity. This is achieved by following a designed “recipe” in an 11 session series that helps guide the muscle and fascia from a place of past patterns of trauma and injury back to the naturally intended positioning. Photographs of before and after prove every time that the work “sticks” and the body moves into alignment even after the work has completed. As a model you will see changes in your body. And with the physical changes comes the potential for a host of life changes.
I will take the first 4 people who commit. If you yourself are not interested, or cannot work it, It would be of great help if you will pass it on to anyone who might really benefit from this opportunity. allergic to massage oil

Hello all,
New member here. I believe that after 9 years of using the same massage oil ( a blend of sweet almond oil with essential oils of lavender, chamomile, and clary sage) I have developed an allergy. I have been dealing with a rash/dermatitis for over 2 months on the inside of my forearms and after narrowing down all the causes I think I might be getting it from my oil! The irritation gets better over my weekend, but gets inflamed again when I start my work week. Has anyone developed an allergy to their massage oil?

Does anyone know of a fantastic lotion? I have used Biotone (yyyyyuuuuuck) Pro Touch ( one step up from Biotone but eh) and Soothing Touch which I personally like. Is there anything better than Soothing Touch? By better I mean quality ingredients, resonable price, creamy texture and a ballance between quickly absorbing and lubricating.

１．患者正坐，医者应于其侧，一手扶后枕，另手拇指按压印堂，后缓缓揉动，一般顺时针为宜，揉压交替进行。然后用双拇指自印堂交替上推致发际上，再左右分抹太阳穴，两拇指分别按揉两侧太阳。用双拇指分别推抹两侧眉弓，从印堂分推至太阳，然后，双拇指对揉对压太阳穴。改用小鱼际肌向后平推至耳上再过耳后再经风池最后走颈侧至肩井。多指捏拿肩部肌肉结束。
２．两手多指同时捏拿两颞部，或两掌对挤头部两侧及前额与后枕。双拇指、食指相对用力按压双风池、头维。双手食指交替按压耳周诸穴，向心形用力（以耳孔为中心）。双手食指同时插入两侧耳孔，分别轻压外耳道周壁，在插颤的基础上用中指敲击后，快速拨出。双手拇食指分别揪耳垂，耳屏与耳廓，双手指分开快速拨打耳廓边缘，将耳廓包于耳孔上，双手拇、食指轻轻前后晃动或多指屈曲以指关节快速轻拨耳廓边缘。
３．单拇指快速擦抹百会穴５００次，频率以１２０次／分钟为宜，亦可用单掌摩头顶，频率要快。
４．分别从两侧率谷穴可双拇指向前下方、后下方快抹，快擦，谓之“前后扫散法”，次数与频率同上。两手中指同拨两侧颞前动脉。
５．两手多指交替循督脉及膀胱经路线，从前额抹至颈根或肩胛区，两手小鱼际肌对揉，对搓颈部两侧。
６．患者颈部侧屈，颈肌暴露，医者用单手小鱼际快扶桥孔部，谓之“退桥孔”。“桥孔”即风池、翳明、缺盆、肩井四穴连线之间区，退桥孔以左侧为主，可退５００次，右侧退３００次，频率以９０到１２０次每分为宜。
７．单手掌心向下置于百会穴上，缓缓转动，另手空拳扣击，手转一圈，拳击４次，用力要轻柔。
８．两手五指分出，指关节屈曲，交替推抖，轻轻拍击头颈部（从前额推至后枕）；两手侧指敲击，多指抓拿，指关节碓击头部、额、及颞部。
面部常规
１．双手掌于患者面部环转推抚，患侧上行推，谓之“收”；健侧下行推，谓之“放”；自然推过下颌，面颊部、额部反复操作十余次，用单手多指上行揉患侧面颊；单手并列四指或小鱼际肌快速搓擦患者面颊，以局部温热红润为准。拇、食指捏拿咬肌肌腹，轻轻向前外方牵拉，用力适度，两次为宜；拇、食指分别向外上方快速揪提地仓、巨缪、瞳子缪三穴，每穴揪３到５次；单手拇指按揉牵正穴１分钟（定位：耳垂前零点五寸），翳风穴１分钟，并取局部其他诸穴。
２．用拇、食指自内向外分摸上下眼眶；用食、中指并拢或分别按顺时针与逆时针方向按压眼周，环转三周，轻重适宜；拇指或食指分别揉上下眼眶。两手食指轻揉两侧睛明穴；指尖轻轻按压此穴，并向上下左右推按。用双手食指尖左右轻拨阳白穴，指下有筋脉滚动，眼球可出现胀感，此法隔日拨一次，不可多用。在食指轻按眼球的基础上，用食、中、无名三指轻轻捏拿眼球，并行按颤动作；亦可用多指或大鱼际按颤眼球。用力适宜。以食、中指分别捏拿上下眼睑，快拿快放；用中指指夹背面滑拨上下眼眶；用拇食指对捏、对揉耳垂，并向外下方轻扯。
３．单手拇、食指揉、拨鼻中隔与鼻部交界处及其量侧，在揉的基础上左右晃拨。单手拇、食指或双手中指指腹揉鼻根部，食指按压巨缪、四白。用双手小鱼际肌分别搓擦鼻翼两侧上下，亦可多指搓擦。用单指指腹，反复按压腭骨入发际线与眉中线；两手拇、食指分别按压双头维、双风池，相对用力，双手食指指腹分别按揉两侧禾缪。
４．拇、食指捏拿、捻转患侧面肌，自下而上捏拿三遍；用拇指固定食、中、无名三指猛力弹出，一指端依次弹击面颊。
头项常规
1 仰卧位,术者坐其头前,以两手拇指指腹置于患者两眉间的印堂穴儿自印堂向上直抹到前发际处的神庭穴止。两手拇指轮流进行，反复推抹20～30次。
2 以两手拇指指端掐双侧攒竹穴处，再以指腹自攒竹沿眉弓，自内向外。经鱼腰至眉梢丝竹空穴止，推而抹之，往返数次。
3 术者以两手拇指指甲掐两眉弓中点的鱼腰穴1～2分钟。然后用拇指指腹自攒竹穴经鱼腰，丝竹空摩到上关穴止，反复摩动2～3分钟。
4 术者用两手拇指挠侧，分别置于头部两侧的太阳穴处，做上下、左右、前后环转揉动2～5分钟，再以两拇指指腹同时用力自头维穴起向外下方，经太阳分推至耳门穴止，反复推摩2～5分钟。
5 术者以两手拇指指甲掐四白穴，以两手拇指指腹自四白穴分推到瞳子穴处。以两手拇指指甲掐睛明穴，再以两手拇指指腹自睛明穴起经过四白穴、颧穴到耳门穴处，进行推摩。
6 术者以两手拇指指腹，置于两侧颊车穴处，按揉1～2分钟，尔后以拇指置于两耳前下方听会穴处，沿下颌外缘，经颊车至大迎穴，反复推摩5～7次。
7 术者以两手拇指与食指揉捏两侧耳部，并向下方揪耳垂。
8 术者先以两手掌搓热后置两侧面颊部，自下向上经耳前到前额部，进行搓摩。
9 术者以两手拇指偏峰置于前额正中线，向两侧分推到太阳穴和头维穴处。
10 术者以两手掌相搓至热，迅速置于面部，由额面部向下，经眉、目、鼻、颧、口等，掌摩面部10～20次。
11 术者以拇指指腹端，自鼻尖部的素穴，经鼻向上沿头部正中线，经印堂、神庭、百会、强间，推摩到哑门穴止，反复操作2～3分钟。
12 术者双手十指略分开，自然屈曲以指端及指腹着力于头部两侧耳上的发际处，对称进行挠抓搓动，由头两侧缓慢移到头顶正中线，双手一指交叉搓动，如洗头状，搓而不滞，动而不浮，反复操作数次。
13 术者以拇指指腹点按百会穴，以四指指甲掐四神聪穴处。
14 术者以一手扶头部，另一手以拇指指腹自鼻尖的素穴向上沿头部中线推摩，经印堂穴、百会穴等，到枕部风府穴处，在沿经各穴可配合点按。
15 术者五指分开，自太阳穴、头维穴处扫至风池穴处。
16 术者以两手五指指端有节奏地叩击头部，保持垂直方向。
17 术者一手扶头，另一手拇指与食指、中指分别置
于颈部棘突两侧分颈肌部位，从上向下揉捏颈肌到大椎，再在一侧颈肌经肩中俞到局部揉捏。
18 术者一手扶受术者头部，另一手以拇指和食指点、揉风池穴。
19 术者双手合掌十指交叉，置于受术者颈项两侧，夹提项肌。
肩部常规
1 病人取坐位。术者以双手大鱼际或掌部着力，在患肩周围作前后、内外分
推及抚摩手法数遍。
2 术者用单、双手掌或多指揉肩关节周围及上臂数遍；然后，用左手握伤肢前臂并托起肘部，将上臂外展并前后活动肩关节，同时用右手小鱼际或掌指关节在肩部周围及上臂施滚法数遍。
3 病人端坐位。术者立于伤侧，用一手拇指在肩胛骨喙突处弹拨肱二头肌短头腱（急性拨３到５次，慢性十几次至数十次），另手托气伤侧肘部，在弹
拨的同时将上臂外展并前后活动；继之，在上臂外展后伸位，用一手拇指顺该肌纤维方向施推理滑按手法数次。急性损伤，以理筋手法为主；慢性损伤，以弹拨手法为主。
在用一手拇指压于喙突部、手掌固定肩峰，另手握拿伤肢腕部，将肘关节屈曲、臂抬起平肩、掌心朝后，然后向右斜前四十五度方向顿拉数次。一般急性损伤顿拉次数宜少，慢性损伤可适当增加顿拉次数。然后，术者用左手托其肘部，将上臂稍外展，右手掌顺该肌纤维方向摩揉病变局部。急性损伤，手法宜轻；慢性损伤，手法宜重，或以热为度。
4 病人取正坐位。术者立于伤侧，一手托握肘部将肩夫节外展。另手沿肩部三角肌与肱二头肌长头腱纤维方向施抚摩、揉、搓手法，同时配合活动肩关节，以达到活血祛瘀之目的。一手托握肘部使肩关节外展、内
收活动，同时用另手拇指沿肱二头肌长头键弹拨至结节间沟处；而后，一手固定肩部，另手握拿腕部，屈肘抬臂活动肩关节并施向侧方顿拉手法数次，以达到舒筋通络之目的。在用一手握拿肘部并托起前臂活动肩关节，另手自下而上滚揉上臂至肩部。一手拇指抵住肱骨小结节内侧缘、手掌固定肩部，另手握伤肢腕部作对抗牵引，在牵引下将肩关节外展六十度左右，再外旋至最大限度，而后迅速内旋，同时拇指从小结节前内缘用力向外上方推拨肱二头肌长头腱，可重复３到５次，指下有跳动感，示筋复原位，随即将上伤肢内收内旋。在用一手托其前臂，将肩关节轻度外展内旋位，另手大鱼际（或重个手掌）部着力自上臂中段向上推理、滑按该筋数次，而后抚摩，以达到舒筋活血，缓解术后不适之目的。
5 病人取坐位。术者立于伤侧，一手托握上肢，将肩关节外展
四十五度左右，使冈上肌放松，用另手掌或鱼际部抚摩肩部；继之，用掌根或大鱼际部揉冈上肌附着点；再用拇指于肱固大结节处揉、拨冈上肌腱着点，以达到舒筋通络之目的。而后，一手握拿伤肢肘部活动肩关节，另手小鱼际在活动肩关节的同时滚、揉冈上肌起止部；掌搓冈上肌抵止部；以热为度，以达到活血祛瘀之目的。在用双手相对有力上下返往揉、搓伤肢数遍；继之，双手握其腕部牵抖伤肢，以达到疏通伤肢气血之目的。
6 病人取坐位。术者立于伤侧，一手固定肩部，另手大、小鱼
际或掌根部在肩胛冈下方反复施术抚摩、揉、搓手法，以热感为度。以达到活血除风之目的。然后，用一手托握伤肢肘部使上臂外展，另手拇指在天宗穴或硬性索条处作上下方向弹拨该肌数十次；然后，顺该肌纤维方向推理数遍。以达到舒松筋肉之目的。
7 病人取坐位。术者立于伤侧，一手托其肘部将上臂外展，另受大鱼际部推或抚摩肩关节后方及肩胛骨的腋窝缘２分钟；继之，用一手掌指关节或小鱼际在上述部位施滚揉手法，同时活动肩关节，以达到舒筋通络之目的。
8 术者一手固定肩部，另手鱼际或掌根部自肩胛骨脊柱缘由上而下揉数遍，拇指拨２到３遍；而后，以食、中、环三指从肩胛骨脊柱缘插入肩胛骨前方
拨理肩胛下肌３到５遍，拇指或大鱼际揉、拨肩胛骨腋窝缘数遍。
9 术者立于伤侧，用双掌或空拳由肩部至前臂往返拍打（掌拍拳打），双手掌相对往返舒搓伤肢数遍，牵拉伤肢；继之，双手拇、食指捏肩井，多指捏拿肩部结束。
肩关节常规
1 术者立于健侧后方，一手推住健侧肩部（固定），另手从健侧胸前托其伤侧肘部，缓缓牵拉使其内收，在极度内收位用体侧抵紧健侧肩后部，一手空拳叩击伤侧肩部周围数遍。
2 术者立于伤侧，一手托握伤肢肘部使上臂前屈后伸，另手在上臂后伸位捏拿肩前筋，前屈位捏拿肩后筋。
3 术者于伤侧半蹲式，用肩扛住伤肢上臂，双手口于肩部前后，进行协调的揉搓动肩，以肩部温热感为度。
4 术者立于伤侧，用一前臂插入伤肢腋下向外上方托扳，同时另手握伤肢腕部，缓缓后向下牵拉数次；而后，前屈上提伤肢。上提幅度，应以病人能耐受为度。
5 病人取低坐位。术者立于伤侧后方，用一手固定肩部，另手握拿伤肢腕部托起前臂（嘱病人配合），作顺时针或逆时针方向最大限度的环转活动。
扭伤穴（阳池与曲池穴连线上四分之一处）
肘部常规
1 病人取坐位。术者立于伤侧，用一手托起前臂，另手掌或大
鱼际抚摩损伤局部及其上下；继之，用小鱼际部滚揉前臂伸腕肌及肱骨外上髁部，以达到松筋之目的。术者滚揉之手改为用大鱼际搓或掌擦肱桡关节部，以热感为度，可达到活血散瘀之目的。术者在用一手握拿伤肢肘部（拇指按压痛点近端，余四指放于肘内侧），另手握拿伤肢腕部（拇指置于桡骨茎突部侧面，余四指放于掌面）。然后，将伤肘屈曲，前臂充分内旋、伸肘，待肘关节将伸直时，在牵引下迅速外旋前臂，使肘过伸，同时托肘之手用力顶推（拇指压紧外上髁），听到“咯吱”声，屈曲肘关节，肱桡关节滑膜嵌顿及桡骨小头半脱位即可整复。术者一手握伤肢腕部，将肘关节屈曲至最大限度，另手拇指用力按压肱骨外上髁前上部，在伸直肘关节的同时推至桡骨小头前上面，沿桡骨小头外缘向后弹拨伸腕肌腱起点数次；而后，随着肘关节的伸屈活动自下向上推理该处筋肉组织数次，以达到舒筋之目的。
2 用一手托起前臂，平臂伸肘。先用一手掌自下而上推前臂腕屈肌数遍；继之，用手的小鱼际部往返滚腕屈肌，以达到活血之目的。在用手掌或大鱼际部反复揉搓病变局部，以达到散瘀消炎及祛痛之目的。然后，术者用一手拇指按压于肘内侧疼痛部位，另手握伤肢腕部，两手协同推按、屈伸及回旋肘关节，以达到剥离粘连，滑利关节之目的。用一手托握伤时，另手握伤肢腕部，先将肘关节屈曲、前臂外旋，并嘱病人充分伸腕，然后迅速用力托肘，将肘关节过伸；继之，在肘过伸位用中、无名二指推理、按压该肌腱数遍，以达舒筋之目的。

I work in a Chiro office (and private practice) and I feel that I get a little stale working on the same muscles everyday.
What are some different Modalities that would be useful in this kind of practice?
(I do swedish, tho not much, deep tissue and sports work. I am interested in Trigger Point work
but don't really know where to go for training...)

Petite therapists and DTM

Hi All,

I'm a 5'4" 102-107lbs female MT. I graduated a couple of years ago with 1000 hours from a SoCal massage school. It was a great learning experience emotionally, physically and spiritually. Many of the graduates from my school are excellent facilitator s for healing/MTs however the program was such that we learned scripted massages which only featured aspects of more advanced massage or deep tissue techniques.

I've been told by a 30+ years massage veteran that I have an excellent touch, touch she said can not be taught but that my program hadn't sufficiently prepared me for DTM non-stop per 4-5 hour shifts. She said that a lot of 1000 hour programs are that way and pretty much called them massage therapist factories that keep churning out more of the same stuff. At the time I was still new to regular massaging, not to mention I was nervous while performing the interview practical massage. Needless to say I didn't get the job, she showed me some techniques and advised me to reapply at a later date. I guess she liked me despite what she perceived as my lack of DT profeciency.

Anyway, I considered her criticism constructively despite the fact that I've worked on some bulky muscular men and women up to 2 and a half times my bodyweight and given them "the best DT massage" (their words). I'm still new to working as a massage therapist but I know enough to know that massage is deeply subjective (pun intended). Still I feel as though some people take a look at my stature and decide straight away that I don't have the ability to give an effective DTM. One amatuer body builder spent the first 10 minutes of a 20 minute treatment quizzing me on muscle anatomy only to finally give in when he found out that I actually knew what I was doing.

I'm taking a DTM continuing education course this weekend and am hopeful that I will learn more tools for my bag of tricks for use on clients like the guy mentioned above. I would like to know if people here of small stature have also had similar experiences and what you did or what to do. I shouldn't have to gain "X" amount of weight to prove anything to anyone.

Massage Table Carrier that's good on stairs?

I've recently had a bout of back problems and (after re-examining my body mechanics to the nth degree), I'm looking for a massage table cart that's good on stairs.

I do outcalls as well as work from a massage space. I live up two flights, so any day of outcalls begins and ends in 2 flights. And my clients, without fail, seem to all be located up several flights as well, some of which are really narrow! I either need to find a good table carrier, or end my outcalls.

I've found a few carriers online that say they can handle stairs, but I wonder if any of you have a carrier that you love? Any bad experiences with the following?

I am new to this tribe.....have been into Mrtial Arts 41 years....Isshinryu, TKD as a martial art...Aikijujitsu, Kyokushinjkai....
Have been rolfed in '86 in Houston with Michael McGiver...great experience....rebirthed, am currently doing Falun dafa a lot....last 2 1/2 years...

Am interested in Deep Tissue Massage....since divorce in '01 studied to be a Physical therapist Asst. but changed to Dietetic Tech....and am pursuing that as a career field..

a good why question...

why do we tell clients to drink lots of fluids after a massage?
Why do people sometimes get sick after getting a massage or do some excersize after a period of not excersizing?
What are those toxins we are squishing from muscles?
What is happening to the immune system after a massage?

Has anyone heard any good physiological (or also energetic/spiritual) explinations for this phenominon?

can internal pelvic adhesions be broken down?

I have internal adhesions from gyn surgery of years ago. One developed after a myoma was burned off my bladder. I went to a naturopath who recommended castor oil w/frankincense, myrrh, orange, lavender essential oil massage nightly on my belly. She said they go through the skin and into your system. Has anybody had good results with oils dissolving adhesions?

Any success stories through other modalities....Recommendations for practictioners in SF...kind and competent.

Hi there,
I'd love to find someone to exchange deep tissue massage with. I have chronic back pain and would love to receive regular massage. I myself worked as a massage therapist part-time for about 4 years. I have an advertising job full time, and yes it is very stressful. I'm certified in deep tissue, trigger point, sports, Swedish, reflexology, and some kinesiology experience. I'm really looking to trade with someone who has a really good feel for deep tissue and trigger point and is experienced more than 1 year.

I can host for I have a table and supplies. Doesn't matter to me. I'm a nice, responsible, respectful female who has a good touch massage wise. I really prefer to perform the deeper work for it resonates more with me, however I'm able to do whatever.

Looking to trade Neuromuscular & Deep Tissue massage

I'm looking for practice partners (prefer other bodyworkers/massage therapists) to trade/practice/study NMT and DT. I have two DVDs (Real Bodywork), astudy guide and a Q& A test home study course. I am graduate of National Holistic Institute and earning 20 CEUs for completing this course.

I'd like to practice each of the different protocols for the Torso (back, shoulders, hips, neck) and Extremities (wrists, elbows, finger flexors, ankles and knees). Everything is sequenced in the DVD, so we will be following a standard level or performance. But we can also use intuitive sense, along with muscle resistance and ROM testing and postural assessment to determine if added work is needed in specific areas. So you will get a good massage. For all those therapists and bodyworkers in need of massage, I can give you plenty of wrist, arm, elbow, shoulder work for those with tired out overworked muscles -- and we can both learn new techniques and reinforce our knowledge of anatomy and physiology.

FYI: I already have 3 years experience working in massage. I've worked for chiropractors, spas, chair massage companies and various festivals and events. I've logged close to 1,000 or more hours of school and continuing education.
